The police arrested Grudina on April 28. The activist was at the premises of former Navalny’s headquarters at that moment. Before the arrest, she said that the window of the headquarters’ building was fired at by unknown people and called the police. A forensic team responded to the site and found the bullets.

The police detained Grudina during the investigation and took her to court without issuing a subpoena under guard. She was accused of re-committing an administrative offense (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) for participating in a rally in support of politician Alexei Navalny on April 21.

In court, Grudina recorded a video message in which she complained that she had to wait until the end of other court sessions. The activist reported the judgmentВ an hour and a half after the video was published. The Oktyabrsky District Court fined Grudina for 75 thousand rubles.

On the evening of April 20, a district police officer visited Violetta Grudina and served her with a "warning about extremism". According to the young woman, she did not sign the document. On the night of April 21, unknown people pasted up leaflets with her contact details and calls to "protect the town from this evil spirit" in the entrance of Grudina’s house.
